Nick Carr’s THE PULP HERO was the first look at the many heroes of the pulps. Although most, if not all, were explored in fanzines prior to the book, Nick’s is the first collection of essays to be published in book form. WILD CAT BOOKS published this issue in 2001. The cover is by Frank Hamilton. I would highly suspect this is where most so-called “bibles” are drawn from, though Nick is never credited with his original work, or the influence the book has had on the “experts” (?) in the field today.
