Black Widow Spider

Latrodectus: She’s beautiful, but nasty. The black widow is a venomous spider common across the US, and many species worldwide. She’s not to be fooled with, as her bite can prove very serious.  When I was ten years old I played around the Memorial Auditorium in Wichita Falls a lot, and I found a web with a female black widow and her recently hatched young. I caught them in a jar and took them inside to show the janitor, who immediately washed them down a sink, and advised me never to play with spider. That was 65 years ago, and I’m still playing with spiders (lol).
